Terms
These terms cover your use of Chat on File. By ordering a record, you agree to them.

What you're buying
Chat on File turns a WhatsApp chat export into a dated PDF, with messages numbered, voice notes written out, photos in place, a summary and key highlights. Reading your chat is free. Each record is a one-off purchase, at the price shown before you pay. There's no subscription.
What a record is, and what it isn't
A record is a readable copy of the export you give us. We print what's in the export and we don't check that it's genuine or complete. It isn't certified by us or by WhatsApp. Chat on File isn't affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.
Nothing on this site is legal advice. We don't promise that a court, an authority or anyone else will accept a record. If it matters, ask a lawyer what you need.
Voice notes
Voice notes are written out by speech recognition, which can make mistakes. Check any note that matters against the original audio.
Summaries and key highlights
The summary and key highlights are written by AI from your messages, and they can contain mistakes. They report what was said, and they aren't advice. Check anything important against the numbered messages.
Your responsibilities
- Only upload a chat you're entitled to use. A chat contains other people's words, and you're responsible for having a lawful reason to use it and to share the record.
- Don't use Chat on File to harass or harm anyone, or to pass off an altered chat as genuine.
- Keep the original chat on your phone, and keep your email and your record's link and PIN private.
Keeping your record
We delete your PDF 30 days after it's ready, or sooner if you delete it from its page. Download it before then, because we can't get it back afterwards. The privacy page says what happens to everything else.
If something goes wrong
Email [email protected] and we'll fix it or refund you. The refund policy has the details. Your rights under consumer law in your country aren't affected.
Limits
We work hard to keep the service running and accurate, but it's provided as it is, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses, and our total responsibility for a record is limited to what you paid for it.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date on this page shows the last change. The terms in place when you order apply to that order.
